Cons
My 2 years at FGF was a terrible experience. Managers in FGF seem like they don’t know how to properly manage people. They don’t really care about you, they don’t teach you, but they expect a lot from you. I felt that my manager didn’t want me to advance my career at FGF - almost felt like she felt threatened that I’ll be better than her at her job. They’ll criticize you for mistakes you make once in awhile and won’t recognize achievements. You just get discouraged to do well. You’ll feel unmotivated. HR should realize that if a manager is giving out bad reviews to everyone on the team, the issue may actually be with the manager, not the team. If there’s high turnover rate and people in a team doesn’t want to stay with this company, manager is not doing a good job. Just because they worked with FGF for so long, HR is always siding with them. HR needs to be more open minded to finding the issue, instead of always favouring to people with higher tenure. This is a fundamental problem that needs to be addressed and fixed, in order for FGF to have a good work culture, instead of promoting “good work culture” by hosting work events and posting it on social media. Out of 10 years of overall work experience I had with 4 different companies, this was by far the worst experience I had. HR seemed to always side with the terrible, negative, disrespectful manager that never recognized good work and harshly criticized small errors that rarely come up but had long tenure with the company. I was so happy to leave the company.
