Pros

Great co-workers, good benefits, work-life balance

Cons

Whether the job is good or terrible all depends on which manager/director you're assigned to and leadership constantly changes with little to no notice or input. They do not promote often.

Pros

Some of the engineer here are really smart and always lot of things to learn

Cons

You get set in certain "track" for promotion and everybody gets promoted on the rate of the track. It doesn't matter how much more additional degrees, certificates or contribution you make, you will not be promoted based on merit.

Pros

I was part of a dynamic team where an entrepreneurial spirit was encouraged and expected. This always meant, if you were willing to stretch your skillset, there would be chances for new types of projects and opportunities gain new experience.

Cons

Sometimes, this ability to flex didn't necessarily convert into opportunities for advancement. Some positions are truly designed to exist at one level only and to advance, one must be prepared to apply to a new position elsewhere in the organization or even move laterally to a position with a more robust internal career path.
