Great company with a severe toxic culture

Pros

Benefits are great, remote work (for now)

Cons

Decisions are frequently reversed, conflicting directives are common, and departmental silos prevent effective cross-functional collaboration. Basically, a high level of dysfunction. Low pay raises and stagnant compensation, zero loyalty to employees, RIFs feel like a daily occurence, eroding morale and making the entire organization unstable. Productivity is at an all time low and there is zero trust in management and overall leadership.

Potential to be toxic

Pros

WFH is a huge plus and if you know what youre doing & need minimal training, then it's a great fit! Depending on the manager, it can be a self-motivated position/role w/little to no micro management. Pay is on par with the industry standard as are the rest of the benefits.

Cons

Again depending on the team. Unfortunately I had the experience of both-great managers & then the worst one I've experienced in my close to 20 years in finance. There is no communication between teams which means no knowledge sharing. The closest thing they have is group chats that no one really talks about anything useful. Ive been at places where they had too many meetings & this place is at the opposite emd of spectrum. This individualistic approach amongst the teams loses potential to share industry knowledge & caveats to be vigilant of while managing clients or closings. There are also no upward or 360 reviews which means managers can go unchecked with bad behavior. There is one micro manager within middle office & it will be very apparent when you come across them. The team does not respect them much & they have a tendency to talk down to partners & people on their team. Unfortunately for the company this person is a huge liability. They will & have lost talented & experienced staff and have faced monetary losses (and will continue to do so) as this person continues to assign work to inexperienced individuals. Good Luck FIS.
