The company was destroyed by bad management

Pros

It's a decent publicly traded company in a great part of town. The benefits and pay are pretty good. Since it is a multinational corporation you get some great exposure.

Cons

During my time there there were cases of harassment, fraud, bullying, discrimination, and abuse. HR did nothing to remedy the problem except for punish those that reported the problems and lay them off or have them fired. This company even has a fraud hotline, which is frequently used but is useless as HR does nothing. The company abuses their employees and no longer offer many opportunities.

Pros

Lots of freedom in a sales role, great products that literally create their own demand. The products have a good reputation in the ag field. Great benefits, employee longevity (depending on position). You can go places, up or lateral. Mostly good managers.

Cons

HR seems to run this company often overpowering managers and has the final say in almost everything. Company president created a long standing hiring freeze despite a 30 percent rate of growth with the companies bottom line in one year. Positions remain unfilled despite need for headcount. The purchase of a generics competitor has put everything on hold. Marketing in Philadelphia has a clear disconnect with field employees and develops obsessions with pushing products that will not sell in certain areas. They are often deceptive in the way they write their marketing programs, making changes without communication to the field. Too much big company bureaucracy. Employes that are good at BS-ing and/or politically connected, seem to get promoted over those that actually produce and had been in the role producing, for years. Pay is below average for the industry.

Horrible experience

Pros

Field level employees are fantastic to work with.

Cons

Middle to upper management are in the business of misrepresenting data for corporate gain. The fact that they consider themselves "an agricultural sciences company" is laughable to those of us who are actual scientists. If you don't believe me, look at their stock price over the last year.
