Pros

Good to get experience in the industry so you can move on to a company that pays better. Benefits are among the best

Cons

Working for FPI was one of the most stressful and disappointing jobs I've had in my life, only Boeing was worse. The pay is terribly compared to 90% of the companies in the area, and there are no real perks or incentives for employees. They pile a heavy workload onto you with little to no support from upper management. The work environment is highly toxic, leadership is run off of a culture of favoritism, retaliation, and poor communication. Instead of building people up, leadership often tears them down. I have turned two nightmare properties around for them and all I get is questions on why trivial things aren't complete. They like to promote their “core values” and caring for employees (I can't tell you how many trainings I've taken on "work life balance" and "preventing burn out"), their actions say otherwise, the treatment is unfair and draining. I've had zero mentorship, minimal growth, only high stress, anxiety, unrealistic expectations. I ask for help when there's a flood of work orders and turns because of the frequent rent increases, all I'm ever told is "there's only one maintenance person for every 100 units." But that doesn't account for an old building with deteriorating copper pipes and the years of terrible maintenance personnel before me. Then they get mad when the units aren't ready on their timeline.

Not Good

Pros

The benefits offered are not bad

Cons

Terrible! For being such a large company they are so unorganized. Doing a simple task is overly complicated because nobody knows what proper procedure is. Need help? Well, good luck because HR is the worst, they don't even know what they are doing and are rude to everyone - if the HR/Benefits people hate their jobs so much then they should quit. Also they are weirdly religious it felt like it was pushed down your throat. Oh and the whole accounting department is related which is against policy and causes major issues when you have a problem with your accountant. So you go to HR, few days later the rudest HR person will reach out to you. They will treat you like a huge inconvenience and nothing will get solved.
