FPI, seems to always hire supervisors that are clueless on knowing how to hire in the field of maintenance. Twice now as a Community director i've been stuck with useless Maint. Tech.

steady work and a pay check

Cons

thy dont pay you for your over time when your on brake or lunch thy keep calling you to do work orders , very on fair general managers, i'll give you a perfect play by play i was offered a promotion and every body new it was this amount but after i got my check it was 5,000 short so i went down the line but the lady or should i say general manager , so quick got every one to lie for her. it really is a bad company to work for. thy still owe me thousands of dollars

Pros

If you have a background in property management, and they've got an opening, it's easy to get hired. There's a reason for that.

Cons

Expect to work long hours with not enough lower level support (they slash the overhead of the sites they takeover, so you have fewer people working under you/supporting you than necessary). This is one of the reasons why FPI will say "We're growing so fast!"; they promise their investors that they can do the job cheaper than another company, and they get to that point by removing perks, benefits and support staff. Also, I was not told until my date of hire that employees did not start accruing vacation time until they had been with the company for a minimum of six months. Leaves a bad taste in your mouth from the get go.
