Good stepping stone..

Pros

I think it truly depends on where you are placed and what agency. The pro is that the starting salary is not bad. Especially good if you are looking to break into the Federal Government - this is a good way to do it. Depending on what agency you are contracted to it may be really fun. You do get to help out on certain things and you can network with some amazing people from all over.

Cons

There are no raises, unless you were to apply to another position. Also you do not get vacation time until after a full year of employment. Most people use this as a stepping stone to get to where they need to be.

Pros

Excellent work/life balance. Excellent department management team.

Cons

Not a lot of growth, though that is a challenge in a government contracting environment.
