Pros

FTI pays well (base + bonus) and its offices are generally very nice - although very different from location to location. Great assignments / client opportunities. Matrix organization based on practice and industry provides good opportunities for intra-company networking.

Cons

Poor relocation assistance. Inconsistent recruitment and promotion across geographies. Little professional development beyond informal day-to-day management; little work-life balance.

Pros

The firm offers opportunities to work on an array of interesting and challenging projects with some very smart individuals. It's a great place to learn and develop your computer skills (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint), analytical skills and attention to detail.

Cons

The work flow can be inconsistent, and the projects that you get staffed on are largely a function of the relationships that you develop within the firm. You have to be proactive and capable of working independently if you are going to thrive in the environment. There is little to no training, which is an area that could use improvement. As such, the employee learning experience is driven primarily by project load.

Pros

There are opportunities to contribute towards a growing consulting firm. Employees did not have to deal with time consuming compliance matters that are expected in some of the big 4 firms.

Cons

Preferential treatment exist and can be apparent. Expectations and guidelines to succeeding at your tasks are not completely clear. New employees should be mindful and should build relationship quickly.
