Pros

FTI offers very high salaries and excellent benefits and vacation. The work can be very challenging (this is a plus). The work schedule is flexible, which can be good or bad - some days are not busy while other times you may have to work weekends.

Cons

The structure at FTI is very hierarchical. The review and promotion process is Byzantine. There is little support for mid-level managers - the transition from obtaining work from senior people to generating your own business makes it very lonely in the middle.

Pros

Fast promotion, high raises and better projects only if you are "buddies" with people in Director level or above. There is no real structure, which means there isn't one person you have to report to. It depends on the project. So You can choose who to work with, assuming that the person is also interested in working with you.

Cons

If you are not "buddies" with the right people then you will not enjoy working at FTI. If you are a Contractor, then you get treated badly (no respect, ignored, etc). Sometimes a person at the level above you can request to work with you, and you have no say (or perhaps afraid to say no for fear of getting on someone's bad side) in working or not working with the person.

Pros

Jobv promotion and growth. Rapidly growing company, and you can grow with it.

Cons

Office culture varies completely from location to location. Rapid growth and acquisitions means that there is little cohesion and uniformity between office locations. Some offices are very cutthroat and you will often work late nights and work weekends. Some are incredibly relaxed and will require only 8-5 workdays with no weekends required. Travel is expected and for some, ubiquitous. Our travel policy is very generous, but at the same time, you may not come home much, as for some engagements, weekend stay-overs are expected.
