Pros

Salary was easy to negotiate. You can spend as much money on food as you want when you travel because they don’t have any sense of budget. That’s honestly all I can think of.

Cons

Management is awful. Not clear on goals, no clear path forward or big picture thinking of what a successful end to a project would look like. Very out of touch with employees because they’re too busy kissing up to their higher ups. Gives major tasks to one person with no direction, help or training on a regular basis- an example of this is when a director told a sales member that she was to “fix the Ft Wayne plant, be the watch dog, pit bull!” because she happened to work out of an office at the plant. All of a sudden the expectation was put on her to help improve the plant that was nearly unable to fulfill orders when it was operating at only 50% capacity when she had absolutely no authority over anyone at the plant. Plant employees have a very strong union and can basically halt production unexpectedly if they all feel like taking off on the same day last minute, and corporate has no idea how to handle this. Instead of making a plan to fix major issues in the overall business operations, it was common that employees would be blamed and fired when they had nearly nothing to do with the issue. Customer service was completely unaware of orders on a regular basis, and only found out about them after receiving multiple angry emails and phone calls from customers asking where their shipment was. New projects are started with basically no understanding of the target market or technology surrounding the idea. The project I was hired for was projected to make 500 times more than what was realistic for the market, and I have no idea how they came up with that, and would not revise it after hiring me to advise them given my industry experience. Lastly, they definitely prioritize quick profits over anything. When they found out the amount of time and money required to get anywhere with the project I was hired for, they went silent.
