Pros

Growing company even in tough times. Accessible leadership. Good compensation and benefits packages.

Cons

Fast growth = young leaders without much experience and lack of formal mentoring and leadership development programs leave many new managers fending for themselves.

Pros

They seem to understand the desires that many developers have, seem to have a good grasp on changing technology and how it can improve their product. The people are extremely nice and fun, a good place to be around.

Cons

Norwalk is not the most glamorous place to live, but the people are really great there. They lag behind some other companies in areas such as flex hours and dress code, which isn't a big deal but is really nice to have.

Pros

Everyone at FactSet is a pleasure to work with, they give you a laptop and a Blackberry, they buy you lunch every day, and you're in a strong position at the center of the financial services industry. It's a numbingly even-keel atmosphere, devoid of office drama.

Cons

When the price of gas and food triples, your rent goes up 10%, and there's still no word on that bonus/raise you were promised 10 months ago that was supposed to back up that title promotion and the new team they gave you, it's time to reevaluate your options. Also, their technology is obsolete, seized within a jungle of red tape, so if you're not careful your skill set will become obsolete with it.
