Honesty, Integrity and Advancement Not Found Here…
Pros
The “worker bees” are hard-working and a great group of people.
Cons
Where to begin... Middle to Upper management is a joke. They hire people with no real “people” skills to manage people. Most are dishonest and unethical (save for a few who want to do the right thing, but run into resistance from all the others who do not). Far too much money is spent on customers to “buy” their business and the customers and the sales reps run the company and make up rules as they go to get what they want rather than following any kind of policies and procedures, which don’t seem to exist in the first place. Human Resources has created false Glassdoor accounts to give the company five stars to boost its very poor rating (I did mention how unethical this company is, right?) If you have ideas on how your job or department can improve, you will not be able to convince your manager to take appropriate steps to make those improvements. They are in it for themselves. Be careful too; giving opinions on how to better do your job will either result in getting more put on your plate (everyone is already under paid) or a target on your back because you gave an idea that was not your manager’s and they wouldn’t be able to take credit for it if it succeeded. Extremely low pay. Raises have not been given in years and everyone below Middle management is underpaid. However, BIG bonuses are given every year (exceeding five figures) to the executives in this privately held company. The yearly trips they give out each year to employees are given primarily to the same group of people (middle to upper management…again) and to write it off at tax time, all attendees on the trip MUST attend work related functions. Far too many people in management that convince the owner they are doing great…they tell him only what they want him to hear. Not what is really happening. This company needs to be fully audited by an outside company…all the books, not just what FMP wants the auditors to see. If this were to happen, financially, this company would be shut down. There is a lot of shady business practices and the books are cooked. The warehouse employees and the office workers are on two different healthcare plans, which in and of itself is a disgrace. The warehouse employees already make less than office staff, yet their healthcare plans are nearly twice as high in premiums. Essentially they work to pay for their healthcare insurance costs.
