Pros

Care has a great training program for the EMT fresh out of EMT class as well as CE training. Well financed and equipped with state-of-the-art equipment. Plenty of solid people to learn from. Benefits are very good!

Cons

Wages are too low, but that's standard for EMTs in Southern California. Management is like the movie Office Space...if there's an incident of any type you'll hear about it from 7 different managers.

On average quite low work load. Friendly culture, definitely not a high pressure workplace. Generally quite good compensation in comparison to similar low-experience jobs. (Union-negotiated salaries + a few percent extra for experienced staff.)

Cons

Almost all shifts are 12 hours. Little room for advancing / developing. Also little room for individual compensation since salaries are negotiated on union-level.
