Pros

Most of the staff act appropriately and are easy to get along with.

Cons

The day supervisor curses subordinates out and throws tantrums daily. His negative attitude affects the staff beneath him and significantly lowers morale. As a result, there is alot of turnover. Direct management turns a blind eye. His behavior is unbecoming of even a low level position, but especially someone in a leadership position. His is the behavior of a schoolyard bully.

Pros

The majority of our customers are really great people who are looking to us to get them what they need and help them solve the challenges that come with farming.

Cons

The family in Family Farm and Home should be preceded by "dysfunctional". Performance of the store manager seems to be secondary to personal satisfaction of the employees. If an employee complains about the manager, the manager is immediately taken to task. The reason for the employee being unhappy (i.e. they have just been written up for failing to perform their job or violating a written company policy) is immaterial to the the corporate office and any allegation is taken at face value without investigation. This puts managers and assistant managers in a no-win position; if the management team allows the non-performing employees to do only what they want to do, the store suffers and the management team is held accountable, if the non-performance of the employees is addressed and they complain to the corporate office, then the management team is accused of "hostile management practices" and held accountable. Favoritism is rampant. A typical visit from my DM was 45 minutes of him engaging in personal social interaction with the two most under-performing employees at the store and then 10 minutes admonishing me for singling them out harsh treatment.

Pros

I don’t know anymore. When I began it was friendly and everyone helped each other. Near the end, backstabbing and high turnover rates made for a stressful environment

Cons

Protocols were not followed by upper mgmt. corporate office ACTED oblivious to issues that had been brought to their attention. Long hours low pay hazardous conditions
