Pros

FanDuel is a great place to work, with a CEO genuinely committed to creating a company he would want to work for. They put a big emphasis on hiring the right people for the job, so the people you work with are generally excellent. They provide perks around the office, from table tennis, food, soft drinks and beer, to gourmet coffee. There is little emphasis on employee conformity, and lots of emphasis on personal satisfaction and high quality software.

Cons

Fast company growth has resulted at times in scrambled attempts to control the different projects that are underway. There's technical debt from the company's early days, but with an ongoing project to resolve this. Employee morale has sometimes been low because of recent acquisitions and legal issues, but again the company is trying hard to fix this.

Pros

Lots of good people at peer level Health care

Cons

Poor management - lots of people in senior positions with no idea how to actually lead a team Poor pay when compared to market. "pay rise' equated to real-term pay cut when factoring in inflation. Mandated to work from office 'x' number of days for no reason People teams are understaffed and 'led' by people that are inexperienced leading to pay errors etc regularly D&I is lip service - lots of women leaving lowering diversity further

Pros

- Unlimited holidays - Very flexible working hours - Fully remote if you're looking for that - Treated like an adult and left to do the work

Cons

- Zero social events - Onboarding is not a priority at all despite the amount of employees being hired - Offices closed until the end of February despite restrictions easing right now - No effort to make FanDuel a fun place to work - No effort to pay people the same that they would get if they left to another company I could go into more bullet points but honestly... it just seems like the culture of FanDuel is gone. There is no people aspect to the company, there is not even the suggestion of in person events, no Christmas dinner etc., and the employees who seem to have defined FanDuel's culture are leaving in droves. The management team is very much a different "clique" to the normal employees which feels very corporate and American "top-down". The management team don't want to hear your feedback, they don't want to hear any negative, and that means that the negative stuff that's happening just keeps happening. You really feel like you're working on a sinking ship.
