Pros

Worked with some great people. Benefits are great along with RSU.

Cons

IT is a popularity contest. Whoever can post a Wednesday win is doing something. So it becomes a game of marketing and not actually improving over IT posture. All part of playing the game, if your not playing you're not working. Constant threat of losing your job so most folks are chatting about that and not working

Pros

The people who work here are amazing. You will work on interesting projects and be part of a fun company that is changing the industry. The products are best in class. One of the best and most recognizable brands in Sports.

Cons

Very long hours (with the expectation of always being on call) and an extremely intense environment. The culture has gone downhill with the US public listing. Used to be a work hard / play hard culture and is now extremely corporate. I think the worst thing about this place is secret layoffs. Your job is no longer safe and the way FanDuel lays its employees off is extremely heartless. I was a hard worker and a relatively high performer and I was blindsided by being laid off.

Deception and Layoffs

Pros

- Smart people - Interesting products and problem space to work on - Great place to work if you love sports - Great benefits and work travel - Great work life balance

Cons

- Below market rate for pay in tech - Our CEO and department president said their would be no layoffs, yet my entire team was blindsided by layoffs out of nowhere - Very little stability, transparency, and trust with leadership within the Product team. - FanDuel operates in a highly regulated market; if states are slow to legalize or decide to raise taxes, this leads to extreme turbulence the firm has little control over.
