Pros

• Amazing colleagues • Exciting brand and market • Treated like an adult by managers • Unlimited holidays

Cons

• The management has changed massively for the worse • Has completely lost all feeling of a startup • Management make it very obvious that FanDuel is now just a cash cow racing for every last dollar • The only engineering talent that FanDuel can attract now are far less capable and experienced than previous years • Salary is considerably less than the current market • It feels like the management team are so disconnected from the heart of the company but more worryingly, it feels like they enjoy it like that • Many very valid concerns are swept under the rug during the town hall meetings and the level of gaslighting is increasing • Product improvements are slowly dwindling, the only focus now is scrambling for money

Pros

- Fantastic manager - Fantastic team to work on - Engaging problems to work on - The work is challenging but very rewarding to see the end result - PTO of 3 weeks/year is easily approved - Great health/dental/medical benefits (100% covered if an individual, 95%-99% for families) Before I left, there was a substantial push to get the tech stack to be more modern, so that was a huge plus.

Cons

- Tech stack can be dated at times, depending on the team (iOS, Android, Web) - Some tech problems are systemic from the older tech stack, making simple additions that'd normally take a day become massive week-long tasks - Occasional on-call rotation, works out to be around once every 6-8 weeks - Compensation is on the lower-end compared to tech companies but in-line & above compared to non-tech companies
