Pros

The potential here is untapped and unheard of in this industry. They have the backing of a major player in the business world and can essentially innovate and fail many times over before they would be worried about collapse. Unfortunately this is a politically run entertainment company and not an agile tech company. Work here if you want a safe environment maintaining old code and drinking with your friendly but secretly depressed coworkers.

Cons

Fandango is floundering under the weight of being the technical innovation side of its much larger parent company Comcast/NBC. They hire, acquire and fire routinely to give the illusion of growth/success, creating not only a hostile and unsafe working environment, but one lacking in direction or purpose. Many of the best people are underpaid and undervalued, so they struggle to keep top talent. HR is perhaps Fandango’s greatest disaster and the most compelling reason for their less-than-stellar reputation. They spend gratuitously on themselves and neglect the employees they are supposed to promote and defend. They openly admit to being there solely to protect the company from lawsuits, so people are rarely treated as human beings, but merely as eventual threats. In some cases the only way to get a response from them is to attack their fragile ego, which fosters a retaliatory environment. Grudges are held and vengeance is extracted. Unfortunately a fair number of people in power at Fandango are generally placed there through some combination of nepotism and bribery - this not only results in untrustworthy leaders, but creates a “club-like” element to promotions. Often the people who survive this unfortunate situation the longest have been stripped of their technical skills and are merely people pleasers, which keeps them stuck in obsolete positions.

Pros

None. The first time I ever worked at a company where I had no confidence in my direct manager or upper management.

Cons

Everything. I worked as a dev and I never felt they were open to moving forward with technology. The managers aren't willing to learn things they are unfamilar with, so they keep using their dated technology stack. Turnover started increasing with the new Disney management.
