Pros

Good work/life balance in my group. Pays well (to some people). Will learn a good amount but only if you ask questions. Good training opportunities.

Cons

Completely unmotivated employees, arbitrary bonus payments and end-of year reviews, monthly face-to-face performance meeting with manager are not conducted for months. Do not try to question to management, you will pay for it. It's a sad place.

Pros

Work life balance, flexible hours, great pay and benefits including 6%/100% 401k match are just about all that is good about working for Fannie Mae.

Cons

No upward mobility, no ability to move around even though they stress that you are encouraged to do so during the on boarding process, terrible recruiters and not much possibility of moving internally. Fannie Mae is extremely "silo'ed" despite the perception of efforts to change... Beware

Pros

Solid company experience overall, having started as a consultant during restatement and then converted to employee. Benefits are for the most part quite good though a few things need improvement. Work/life balance is good, depending on organization, direct management, and company situation at the time.

Cons

Not a lot of opportunity for growth internally, and company is drowning in politics
