Flexible work days, opportunity to make a lot of money

Cons

When you don't meet your quota, you'll owe the company money for the month!! You have to pay for your office space. If you want to file for bankruptcy, this is the right job for you.

Pros

Competitive products, great support for new agents, innovative approach to the personal lines market. Farm Bureau is unlike any other multi-line company in the way they approach marketing and selling their products. The focus is in a comprehensive review, and value selling.

Cons

Training is difficult in the beginning...a lot of information in a very short period of time. Training is definitively a challenge in the beginning. I came into this business with no formal insurance experience, so it was a lot to take in during the first two months.

Pay is good. They have great benefits and a competative 401(k).

Cons

A very undefined change management process. Not very family friendly. You are allowed 6 days per year of unscheduled absence. Beyond that, you get put on probation. So hope you don't get the flu, or need to tend to a sick child. Want you to work several hours a week, and will compare you to others who do (typical ones with out a family)
