Pros

On paper, there is a base salary plus commission, and the owner is a skilled insurance salesman. That’s about where the positives end.

Cons

The expectations placed on employees are extreme and often unrealistic. Sales staff are pushed to make 300–500 calls per day, which creates a high-pressure environment focused purely on volume rather than quality or sustainability. At the same time, there is constant pressure about lead costs, with frequent complaints about how much money is being spent, which gets passed down to employees. Despite these demands, there are no meaningful benefits. There is no PTO structure, no medical, dental, or vision insurance, and no retirement support such as a 401(k) or pension. There is also no short- or long-term disability coverage. I personally proposed implementing a low-cost 401(k) plan for employees—this was acknowledged but never followed through on. Work-life balance is openly talked about, but in practice, it is not respected. There are frequent remarks and jabs about work-life balance, while expectations directly contradict it. Overtime is effectively expected, especially for service staff, yet hours are capped at 40 per week because management controls and inputs time, regardless of actual hours worked. Pay and workload are not aligned. Service team members, in particular, are expected to handle increasing responsibilities without fair compensation. This leads to burnout and frustration over time. Management style is another major issue. Communication is inconsistent, and time-off requests may be approved but not properly tracked or honored later. Interactions can come across as dismissive, rude, or inconsiderate, and there is a clear sense that employee well-being is not a priority. The culture is heavily driven by the bottom line, often at the expense of the people doing the work. Over time, this environment can negatively impact morale and mental health. If you are considering working here, go in with full awareness of the expectations, lack of benefits, and management approach. For most people, this is not a sustainable long-term work environment.
