Pros

Great starter company, especially if you are a cis-gender white man.

Cons

Work life balance for the nature of the job is incomprehensible. If you expect to grow with this company, know that only Soft Skills growing is possible as their Tech is very outdated and niche. If you are a POC run for the hills!

Pros

Free annual trip to 5 star resorts (isn't much of an incentive to stay with the company though, especially after having gone to 6 of these) Good living adjustment if you relocate Competitive salaries and raises in the first few years Development center in Denver is nice (probably the only place to go if you actually want to improve on your technical skills)

Cons

Lots of overtime and not enough new and interesting things happening, which makes the job both stressful and boring at the same time. After the first couple of years, you pretty much work with the same system and the same tools, even though the software may "look" different with each new version released, it is more or else the same thing. Many of the development tools you work with are proprietary, so there are not many transferable skills you can take to the next job. Even though I technically have around 6 years of experience with VB.NET and working with SQL databases, I am still extremely weak in those areas and would still consider myself as a beginner programmer, which makes it hard to transition to another job if this job doesn't work out. My advice to new hires is to try it out for a year or two if you want and you can usually tell if you have a future in this company after that and if you know that you don't, then get out immediately! I'm regretting not getting out sooner right now, and it is going to be quite difficult for me to find a new job that pays even 2/3 of my current salary. A word about Martin (CEO): First of all, Martin is only one of the 6 partners of the company and he is the partner responsible for new product development. He is an extremely intelligent person with lots of ideas and visions for the software. However, it is quite difficult to work with him because he will not ask you for design ideas, he will simply just tell you what to do. This is the reason why I selected to disapprove of him in this review.
