Pros

Strong pay and benefits Awesome group of people to work with Easy to talk to people If you do good work you WILL get recognized No internal politics Still feels like a fairly close-knit company even though the number of employees has grown substantially in the past couple years.

Cons

Really, the only thing I've run into is the fact that you don't really get to remain in one location. You sometimes have to leave friends behind who aren't a part of Fast. The ones who are a part of Fast, you at least get to see on a yearly basis.

Pros

Simple work. Decent pay if you're willing to travel.

Cons

No challenge. If you have a passion for programming, this is not the position for you. No room for growth outside of company due to proprietary software. Pays drops to below average if you aren't willing to travel. Experience may vary greatly between locations.

Pros

The open and flat level atmosphere is really something I have been looking for in the past. FAST isn't just a company, but also a team of great individuals. They all work together for a common goal and they are always more than willing to help their fellow worker. I see the travel as a strong and useful step in people's lives and I can't wait for more.

Cons

This hardly counts as a con, but I have to wait for a little while until I can go work on their overseas projects.

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad you see our flat organizational structure as a positive. Sometimes people mistakenly equate the number of job titles to “rungs” on a “career ladder”—the fewer the titles, the shorter the ladder, and the lower the heights to which your career can climb. This could not be less true at FAST. We believe in rewarding solid, quality work with commensurate compensation, opportunity and experience. At FAST, titles alone do not drive those rewards and opportunities. Work hard, work smart, deliver quality, continually improve—focus on these things and the career opportunities and experiences will be there. We keep titles to a minimum to reduce false barriers to communication between FASTies. We also do it to encourage FASTies to do whatever needs to be done to ensure project success, to help one another however they can. On our projects everyone has a role to play, but no one should consider themselves “above” a particular task simply because of their title. With regard to your interest in international opportunities. The best way to open up options for work assignments, domestic or abroad, is to increase your knowledge of the software and its business applications, our methodology, and culture. Assigning folks to projects is largely an exercise in matching client needs with the FAST resources who can meet them. The greater the breadth and depth of your skills, the more likely you will be able to meet project needs across all sites. When it comes to opportunities abroad, there are other attributes that can also help—knowledge of foreign languages, openness and adaptability to different cultures, a sense of adventure. To better match client needs/work locations with employee preferences, we have just implemented a new system that allows employees to communicate their preference in work locations to staffing coordinators. Employees can now, electronically, identify their preferred work locations as well as the work locations they prefer to avoid. It’s important to understand, however, that while the system makes it easier for us to be aware of employee preferences, as a business we must ensure that we make good on our promises to our clients, make sure their needs are met, and staff their projects accordingly. Thanks again for your comments. We look forward to your continued success.
