Pros

Great benefits FAST Pause (1 month sabbatical every 4 years), AGM (Annual company wide all expense paid trip to fun locations) The Partners clearly want to do a good job and have a great company. Every opportunity I have had to talk/interact with one has always been a good one. Frequent on site outings

Cons

Overtime is inevitable if you are on an active rollout. In general I really dont mind working overtime, but depending on the site, the hours can get grueling (80-90 work weeks are not that uncommon). Morale on projects is often very low during these peaks. While starting pay is decent, and annual raises are okay, there isn't much vertical mobility. Really the only position to move up to from an IC is an IC team lead. There is not much of a pay bump to becoming an lead either. In fact a lot of people do not want to become a team lead as they have much more work and stress with hardly any better pay. My advice to management is to give some sort of pay bump immediately when someone becomes a lead for the first time. I think this would help a lot with turnover. Your experience from site to site will vary greatly. It will depend massively on your Project Manager as well as fellow coworkers. I've been on sites where when the PM felt that morale was low, they made sure to do more team outings and fun events. I've been on projects where the PM was too afraid to do anything for fear of going over budget. I have no idea how this budget works because some sites will go on crazy outings that would surely decimate the budget, but still manage to do more events. Meanwhile other sites, the PM will be debating whether we can even get drinks while going to a restaurant.

Pros

Good pay right out of college Coworkers are similar age and easy to get along with Good benefits

Cons

The only technical skill you learn that you can take elsewhere is SQL. All other technologies you use are proprietary and will not benefit you. If you are on an active project, work life balance can be non-existent. I was on 3 active projects from start to finish and worked crazy amounts of overtime on every single one. Pay does not keep up with industry average. If you work here for an extended amount of time, your pay will fall behind. Salary increases are not transparent. They all depend on a number you are assigned and you have little say in this process. In a remote world, Fast is doing everything they can to push their employees back in the office. They are ignoring what their employees are saying even though we were remote through the pandemic.
