      Fastenal offers good retail experience.

      The pay is terrible and there isn't much opportunity for advancement within the company.

      OK training ground for entry level sales, if you are self motivated.

      Pros

      Good amount of freedom allowed. Strong financial growth for stockholders. A good place to learn if you are lucky enough to have one of the few good managers.

      Cons

      Not a lot of strong leadership from the top. Very high amount of turnover negatively impacts customer base. Low pay for workload and expectations. Everyone is disposable under district manager level.

      Pros

      Freedom to operate as you wish. DM's do not force you to operate your store as they once operated their branch.

      Cons

      Lack of a world class trucking/freight system. Product is always being lost in transit or no stocked. There is no master hub for the west coast so getting your orders in quickly rarely happens.
