In order to be hired full-time, in most situations, you must start as a part-time employee working evenings without any benefits at all for the first year. After that vacation is accrued based upon hours worked for the week. Sometimes evening people are not treated with the same respect as full-time day employees are. Generally, full-time positions are filled from part-time workers only as a position opens up. In order to establish a career, you must wait until a full-time position is available. This can possibly cut into valuable time establishing a career.

In order to save money a lot of road runs have been outsourced to long haul trucking companies leaving our drivers sitting at home drawing unemployment benefits. If this is a cost cutting move then lay the drivers off, give them some compensation for the years they have put in and get on with the aspect of making money because that is what Fedex Freight is good at. They suck up to the customers to a certain extent and dump crap all over their emploiyees especially the ones who try to make a voice for themselves or other workers. Fedex is listed as one the most admired companies to work for. I guess you could say that about yourself if you were on the panel and could vote yourself in that way. Trying to hang on for retirement purposes but have quit giving my 110% because the company as a whole does not care about its employees.
