Pros

One of the last companies left that supply a retirement, if you can last that long. The benefits are a plus but they are less so each year , plus a greater cost to the employee. Still better than most...FedEx has a no lay off policy which does give a feeling of security.

Cons

You start out young , strong and fast, but in a few years the injuries begin to take a toll. You will wear down...this job is physical, no doubt about it

Pros

The health benefits are worth staying for, even as a part- timer. I had a $1272.00 bill for allergies and repeated weekly shots of $25.00. I only paid $40.00. This is in-network but out-network is good as well. Some employees are here just for the benefits. Discount perks are pretty good too. Cell phone etc..

Cons

Although the wage per hour looks great on the pay stub, you can make more money bagging groceries full time. Partime hours at the company hurts. If a courier misses the route goals for the month, this knocks you out from applying for a full time position, if available, with a 6 month wait I believe. However, the position will go to someone who has been waiting in line for two years or so. SENIORITY RULES at Fedex! You basically have to get lucky to go full-time. You have a better chance a going full-time with a swing position.

Pros

No layoff policy. This is big. Programs, applications are very progressive. As a Senior manager, one is given a lot of freedom to manage and lead a facility. Leadership models are available through many portals and are cutting edge. FedEx stays very current with every aspect of the transportation industry.

Cons

The new annual bonus structure; The strategy to achieve goals is really a thinnly vailed pay cut. It is understood that these are trying times for many companies, however, transparancy at all levels, including compensation should be forthright. Make the goals fair and consistant.
