Pros

- Predictable work flow daily that is communicated with workers from management. - Great work atmosphere and support to improve/succeed - Fast promotion and pay increase if you perform well - Willing to work with you for days off if you need it due to full time job or school. - You get in shape fast, consider it getting paid to go to a gym. - Good work culture and big on safety.

Cons

- Very physical and you have to be built for this type of work (in reasonable shape with no major health issues). For people like me, I love it. However, a lot can't handle it and that is the reason for fairly high turn-over

Pros

Shift went quickly High starting pay initially with raises after 3, 6, and 12 months (Started at $14.95/hour) Worked with some of the best people with the best character in my life Opportunities for extra hours

Cons

Shift Hours (Started at 3:30/3:45 Tuesday-Saturday) Workload always unpredictable (load counts/packages per truck changed daily) Unpredictable employee peer attendance directly affected your job daily IMPOSSIBLE to get promoted unless you work part time as a package handler for 6-7 years. The company posts jobs on their internal career site, JUST TO POST THEM. Usually they already have been grooming a candidate for 1-2 years for that position (management, linehaul, HR, supervisor, etc.) So once the job opens, even if you apply for it, you WON'T get an interview. You won't even get a phone call. For a package handler, there is no hiring standard. They will hire anyone with a pulse. For this level of work and its intensity, there should be a standard.

Pros

has good benefits. can be a fun environment with the right managers and good fast workers. some room for improvement

Cons

works you like a horse, usually poor hours, managers like to watch you struggle instead of helping and working as a team
