Pros

The best part about working here is the tuition benefits, which have been helpful.

Cons

The pay is pretty horrible for what the work is. I get that is is only part time, and I am no stranger to physical labor as I have worked in similar environments before. The issue is that I have done less intensive work for more pay. I also know that this kind of environment tends to have high turnover, but I've never experienced it as bad as here. The pay and benefits aren't really worth the amount of work that is required. The company can't keep enough people to maintain an adequate workflow equally distributed between employees, so the lack of staffing has us all overworked without so much as a bonus, even for the busy season. Drivers are leaving left and right because they spend upwards of 14 hours a day, 6 days a week, just at their job. While only getting paid a flat rate of anywhere between $150-$200 a day, which only ends up being a little less than $15 an hour. Package handlers are part time, but in order to get the drivers out and delivering on time, we have a limited amount of time to sort, load, and stage. When staffing is low, which it has been for a while, it becomes difficult to be able to do all of this in a way that is not detrimental to the drivers. This in turn creates tension between the package handlers and drivers. We are doing what we can, but it does not always align with all of our interests. Merging with FedExOne has only worsened things. Im sure this is done to cut costs, but creates a burden for those of us actually having to deal with the workload. And while upper management is able to give us a bunch of branded free stuff (mugs, t-shirts, backpacks, etc) I, and many others, would rather be better compensated for the work we put in.

Pros

We enjoy good discounts, it's also a very good work environment with a lovely work culture. You'll enjoy working at FedEx, whether you are quiet or loud, there's someone who matches your energy. There are also lots of opportunities for growth. You enjoy vacation pay too as a permanent part-time employee, great for students.

Cons

I don't really have any cons working for FedEx, ,.......at least, not yet
