Pros
The expectations were clear: do your job and do it well so the work can get done. When the work was done, whether late, early, or right “on time”, the work was finished, and the job could be “left at the door”, so as not to interfere with the balance between it and the rest of life’s necessities.
Cons
When I was offered a permanent position (after beginning as a temp), it was partially contingent on taking a pretty significant pay cut.
