      Federated really values their employees. They offer great benefits including a pension which is hard to find these days.

      -Crazy good compensation (i.e. $150-200k is easily doable in 2-3 years) -Total freedom as long as you meet their expectations -Get to work with business owners first-hand to try to solve their problems and help them with complex issues that they face each and every day -Training program is the best in the industry and you will learn more than 99.9% of your competition will ever bother to learn

      Cons

      -Lonely. You are the only person in your territory so there is no comradery/co-workers to see -Extremely difficult. You are EXPECTED to work 60 hours a week minimum starting out. -Feels like you are being stretched in a million different directions, between Commercial Lines, Personal Lines, Client Services, etc. --- many of the agents we compete with are only focused on one of these -Stigma of being an "Insurance Salesmen" follows you into every door -Incredibly inflexible underwriting requirements -You are going to be the more expensive option 9 times out of 10... have to "sell value" which is getting harder and harder in this day and age when all anyone cares about is the bottom line

      Wow, you are on an island and if you don’t sell a ton of life insurance, you’ll be getting a ton of pressure. You get an ok base but the amount of hours you’re required to put in is definitely not worth it. You can tell who is drinking the Kool Aid on these reviews, however those are the only ones that can survive this company.
