Pros

Decent wages and bonuses Decent benefits

Cons

They have no understanding of diversity. They have one woman of color on the executive board who just made that position. They lack any understanding of what the word diversity means, if you read about this department, all it mentions is inclusion.... inclusion has NOTHING to do with diversity. The picture they provided of "diversity" is such a misreprestation from what Mankato and Owatonna look like. Federated has a big push for the word "networking", which really means this is the only way you are going to get promoted. People who should have gotten promoted because they know their job duties have been overlooked because they didn't meet Federateds outdated guidelines.  Then you have people who have worked there for so many years and get away with treating you like crap. Management won't do anything about it but turn a blind eye because seniority stands firm. They gloat about how the profits they have been made and forget the people who had to work crazy hours to reach these goals. The want to show appreciation through pizza parties then demand more work. The workplace is toxic which in turn is making the people that work there toxic. Federated has stated they do not allow working from home, but that differs from lead to lead, and you can see favoritism. Along with the fact supervisors can freely work from home under their own discretion Absolutely no such thing as work/life balance.

Pros

Supportive management/leadership. Growth and opportunities if you are seeking. Federated is a stable company no layoffs or reduction of pay/benefits during recession or COVID. Focusing on diversity and inclusion as well as maintaining a solid footprint in the industry. Caring culture don't just feel like a number.

Cons

Lack of technology but they are working on it for the foreseeable future.

BEST Culture EVER!

Pros

Federated has the strongest, most positive work culture of any company with which I've worked in my 20+ years representing employers. The company goes above and beyond to treat employees well. It is one of the few places that I know of where you can start in a low level position and work your way up. It is also the only place I know of to have so many 20+ year employees! Training is robust. Career opportunities abound. Federated doesn't give up on good people trying their best, offering many ways to help them improve and/or find a better fit. The culture is truly top-down with everyone working together under the same set of values starting with the Chairman of the Board. People who have never worked anywhere else truly don't understand how great it is at Federated and how much worse most employers treat their employees.

Cons

I can't argue with the reviews noting that there are few opportunities for work-from-home positions and that most office positions are located in Owatonna, Minnesota. However, the company is up-front about that with candidates, allowing them to make an informed decision.
