Pros

Great benefits Many opportunities to learn and grow Many areas of expertise to be considered and to expand on

Cons

Tense work environment Once you're a middle-man, it's hard to get out of the rut. Unless you know someone who knows someone, stay on the bottom. Once you begin to advance, the managers get harder to deal with. Tenure and seniority mean a lot to the company.

Pros

Benefits are good, fun and laid back atmosphere, great co-workers, yearly raises can be very nice, training program is challenging but well worth the skills you obtain.

Cons

Ferguson promotes a work life balance but then requires a 50 hour work week with monthly Saturday work and inventory weekends twice a year. Also, depending on the branch, it can be difficult (as a woman) working with so many men in such a manly industry (comments, sexism). Promotions and advancement takes a lot of time for the majority of people. Yearly raises are so low it doesn't make a difference.
