Pros

Good pay the customers were sometimes nice to speak with.

Cons

The job was okay. It got a little stressful at times. When training I only received one week of training by the new csr. The other showroom consultant was rude she continuously told me about how the CSR’s before me use to help out so much. And she would tell her clients about how much she missed them. She would have these random angry outburst When she got overwhelmed and take it out on me. I was kissed by another male employee. It’s definitely a mans environment.

Pros

The training program out of college was great. Pay during training for relocation and living expenses was good. Worked with a lot of fun people. Learned a lot about the wholesale plumbing industry and customer service. Had some customers who were easy to work with and entertaining.

Cons

Was promised in training that there would be a lot of opportunities to get promoted quickly. Did not see any positions open up in my tenure that suited what I wanted to do in my career. Once Covid happened they almost immediately cut hours/ pay for the inside salespeople and did not come up with a solution to fix our pay for almost a year. I had to beg my boss for a year for them to adjust our pay to what was on my offer letter. The day-to-day grind of this job is unbelievable. You can do your job perfectly and the warehouse can decide to not ship your order or pull all the material wrong. Customers are extremely unorganized and expect you to baby them and run their business. Customers tend to be very inconsiderate and demanding. Finally, for the inside sales position, there is no incentive to work hard or sell more. You will not see any commission based on the business you write. You can be the top inside salesperson in the district for months and never see a difference in your paycheck. Also, if you exhibit that you are good at your job that just means that the outside salespeople and management will dump more work on you that they are too lazy to do.
