Pros

Sometimes there are prevailing wage job contracts. The Company has some decent benefits deducted from each paycheck. Vacation and sick leave available.

Cons

Travel 50% of time minimum. Weeks at a time. Sometimes months at a time. No compensation while traveling when not on the clock, yet stuck in whatever town the contract is in until job is finished. Hard on family. Sometimes expectations from management exceed resources given to properly accomplish the job.

Pros

In the 10 years I was there I worked with some of the greatest people ever. Nice employee discounts, good match on 401k, once again the people you work make the job.

Cons

It's who you know, not what you know. 50-60 hour weeks, very little appreciation given and upper management doesn't know the difference between being a great leader vs. just a manager. They lost touch with what incredible customer service is and how at one point it separated Ferguson from everyone else. Flat 1-2% annual increases and after helping them achieve record breaking years the bonuses are insulting to the effort that was given. You're made to believe you're not worth what you're paid and you should feel lucky to receive a 2% increase. There was a time I'd never leave that company for anything because I truly believed in their upper management and philosophy but how quickly things change when you become another AA #. Current and past associates will know what I mean by that comment.

Nice Company

Pros

You receive vacation days, sick days, personal time, and other benefits at 30-60 days. Yearly bonus towards the end of the year.

Cons

It is sometimes difficult to get support when having an issue. You have to leave a voicemail and hope someone gets back to you quickly. Sometimes, all the work you're asked/required to get done is not worth the pay.
