Pros

National footprint with lots of areas to make careers moves, $32b in Annual Sales Revenue, plenty of networking opportunities

Cons

Poor leadership on local level with a total disconnect between upper management and local management, lack of communication with an already spread thin staff on what their specific job duties are. Chaos ensues daily with a lot of finger pointing on whose job is to do what. Discontent runs rampant and people are not very happy to work with.

My direct manager cares about me as a person. My team is awesome. Pay is decent and bonuses are generous.

Cons

Ferguson is a large and old company with a very top-down management strategy. Slow to adapt and mired in internal politics. Policy handed down from corporate is often tone-deaf and out of date.

Pros

Great entry sales job out of college - depending on location. One city’s team may be fantastic, and another terrible. (Like in my experience). Met some amazing mentors along the way who I learned a lot from.

Cons

A lot of false promises are made by management to keep you from quitting. 6 day weeks, sometimes more than twice a month without being on a legit commission plan and living off of a low base. Treated as inferior/invisible to rest of team and management. Extremely cliquey, poor local team culture (bullying, gossip, exclusion, inappropriate behavior, etc.).
