Pros

Good hard working people doing all the grunt work. Sense of pride among the hard workers! Good customer loyalty between the workers, the drivers and the customer. Most are friendly and on a first name basis. OK benefits including health insurance and small 401K match.

Cons

From the GM on down - bad management is an understatement. All are hired out of sales. ZERO management skills. Zero people skills. Just donkey kissers who hire or promote fellow donkey kissers. Management has ZERO credibility or skills. When confronted with difficult or pressing issues they play "point the finger" instead of learning the skill themselves so that they may interact and train the employee. Employees who dare question management are "blacklisted" until they can be let go. Non existent training. 50 hour expected work weeks but only paid for 8 hours max when on vacation or sick. You lose money by taking vacation. Salaried employees are expected to work 50 hours minimum. If you work 70 hours (during Inventory for example) you are paid your regular 50. The standard 2% cost of living increases have been renamed "bonus" money. Performance Reviews are a 1000% JOKE! Very pathetic. They have ZERO effect on 2% cost of living increase UNLESS you are on the managers sh*t list to wit they will use a bad performance review against you. Scores of employees let go during economic downturn. Hard workers picked up the slack with ZERO compensation. Now that economy has rebounded there is still no help or compensation.

Pros

Benefits Most Weekends Off Some really good but over-looked people.

Cons

Everything else, management places value in the wrong people and promotes those that do not deserve it. Warehouse hourly pay, raises, and bonuses are lousy, management and sales rake it in. Management makes rash decisions, inconsiderately moves personnel while the employee has no choice in the matter. Warehouse associates are constantly physically pushed to their limits, and constantly being scrutinized, it is never good enough. They don't say it, but they essentially want you to run all day, in a non climate controlled warehouse. Some are forced to work overtime, while others get away with leaving on time. Its ok for some to be lazy and not work, while it is not ok for others to take a break. It seems like the bigger the salary, the less you have to work. Under staffed. Constantly feel threatened about losing your job, or being laid off. Lack of opportunities for those that truly deserve it. Yearly reviews are a waste of time and worthless, employees should be able to submit reviews of their supervisors. Trainees start in making more that warehouse associates that have been there for years.
