Pros

It looks great on a resume to work at such a well known fortune 500 company and the discounts you can get from discontinued items from vendors are great.

Cons

There were no opportunities for growth in such a time of recession. Any jobs that may have been available were outsourced to temp agencies instead of hiring within the company. Even though the company wasted time training new people with no knowledge of the company, it saved them money in the long run beside they can pay temps the starting salary and no health care. I think that one of a company's first priority should have been to save a few people from being laid off.

Pros

Employees get to learn all the processes of the company from the ground up. Customer service is the best in the industry. They really know how to take care of their customers.

Cons

Long hours. A lot of down time that drags the day even further. Work can be grueling, especially if you start in the warehouse. Employees can be difficult to work with and there is a constant unsettling atmosphere in the workplace. This company buys out smaller companies which don't adopt the Ferguson culture. If you are hired through Ferguson you can be placed in one of their many businesses (pumbing, waterworks, HVAC,etc) and not have the experience promised during the interview or orientation.

Pros

To gain valuable experience and move on. Managements expectations are too high and unrealistic. Pay is good but def not worth it for what you give up; your life! Its all about cutting costs any way possible. Everyone is expected to do a lot more with way less,,,

Cons

No life outside of work, expected to work 10 hour days EVERYDAY. If you want to be happy, don’t work at Ferguson. The only time i am happy with this company is when i am on vacation. Trust me, you will only be happy when you are not at work. I am willing to take a substantial pay-cut to work elsewhere.
