Overall good place to work

Pros

Very positive environment for employees. Good benefits, telecommuting and flexible hours for some employees, pay is fairly competitive for a non-profit.

Cons

Low turnover leads to little opportunity for advancement. Culture does not deal with performance problems and few incentives for high performance.

Troubled times

Pros

Chance to work with intelligent people. A nice property, scenery.

Cons

Been here 5 years, two years had no salary increases, recently notified that all raises will be postponed 3 mo this year and more cost cutting measures may happen. The director spent millions the past few years making his new fancy offices and trying to make cafeteria like CERN. Lots of big egos, many managers have disrespect for others "skills"

A fantastic place to work

Pros

Extremely smart people; interesting work; surprisingly competitive compensation; great work-life balance with reasonable hours; flex work schedule; café and gym on site; lots of professional development classes; opportunity for advancement; art events with an on-site gallery; an amazing campus that feel like a park preserve.

Cons

A little stagnant and set in its way due to people working here for decades; difficult to implement changes; far away from the city, so feel a bit remote.
