      New hires beware, the smoke and mirrors are real

      Pros

      There is zero pressure, the bar is super low, layoffs don't really happen, there are free snacks, the offices are well-appointed and furnished.

      Cons

      Mediocrity abounds, everyone who loves it is there because they are terrible at what they do, the pay is not remotely competitive (they hang their hat on "Cost of Labor" as the justification), everything is built on tenure rather than talent. They sell new employees on a generous bonus structure, but don't disclose that the bonus that you are sold is in fact unattainable, even in an exceptional year of company and individual performance. The profit sharing is not realized for years. They don't do raises, only at the time of promotion does a high-level salary get adjusted. Leadership also requires you to pretend that you are hybrid by coming into the office 5 days a month, even though you are zooming with people on other floors anyway. Zero transparency on anything; I guess that is to be expected when you are private family co.

      DO NOT EVER APPLY HERE. They could not care less about you as a person. They revoked my offer Today, a Friday and I was supposed to start on Monday. This is right before the Holidays and they knew about my current situation that a family member has CANCER. Not just a sickness, CANCER that I am paying OUT OF POCKET FOR. When they ran a credit report they found something that I didn't even know about, total around $4000. DID NOT KNOW IT WAS THERE. This happened on Wednesday. So I call the collections agency at their request, settle it, give them the information that things have been taken care of and they tell me today that my offer was still revoked. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU. They will screw you over, spit on you, and laugh about it. SERIOUSLY. The Recruiter did not care one cent. Now I'm completely screwed, no job, cancer, and bills. Oh, yeah! Happy Holidays! P.S. I have several friends who use them for their accounts and they will be closing them because of what they've done in this situation. And I will make sure this is all over my social media. This is REAL LIFE. I was COMPLETELY SCREWED OVER.

      Pros

      Great company with lots of opportunity for advancement and career changes with god benefits, and good pay. I worked at the company for over 10 years and learned a lot about retail and B2B investments. Have a few FINRA licenses (24,65, 63, 7, 31, and Insurance) and was working towards my CFP that was supported and sponsored. There are also lots of internal and OTJ trainings. Plenty of great people and some pretty awesome financial industry leaders. It's a privately owned company so if they want to pursue something they don't have to get the stock holder's buy in and they allow the employees to provide input on a lot of the process and employee engagement improvements that are currently in place. Overall it's a very dynamic culture constantly changing.

      Cons

      Super lager company so you could feel like just another worker and that your voice doesn't count. At times the hiring process when moving between roles can be a bit monotonous (in that it's a hurry up to wait months situation). Overall it's a very dynamic culture and constantly changing so if change is not what you like this probably isn't for you.
