Pros

The benefits and pay are equal and/or above it's competitors. Everyone takes pride in their work and they want to do the right thing. The tenure is high.

Cons

There's very little job stability...layoffs have been happening every year in certain areas. Not sure why, we're swamped with work and the company continues to make a ton of money. That is a good thing, but they need to cut in certain 'other' areas instead of the same area every year. Some of the old leadership must go. The new leadership I believe is strong. Maybe they will help breakdown the walls between the groups so we can get a lot of work accomplished. They also need to get rid of the 'good old boy network'...there's a lot of talent in the organization, but they can't get passed the 'clicks'. This is very unfortunate.

Pros

The collegial atmosphere allows employees at Fidelity to work together towards solutions by bringing diverse knowledge through cross-business teams. Instead of working in Silos we communicate with business partners having experience in multiple industries. This allows quicker responses to client needs as well as the most efficient process to bring the most relevant new products to market within budget and original timeframe. The benefits packages include health insurance, life insurance, short and long term disability, corporate perks, share ownership in a private company, and 401k. Management is very flexible when time is needed for personal needs. The properties are taken care of and kept current and the food at Sebastians(internally owned caterer) isn't half bad!

Cons

It can be tough to see people promoted or hired for choice jobs because of who they know or where they went to school. This problem though seems to be endemic to the entire business world. You have to manage your time appropriately to allow you to keep up with your current tasks as well as learning more skills and making the right connections to be properly positioned to advance your career. If you are not a Type A personality you can get stuck in a role performing the same tasks over and over without much growth potential. You have to take initiative and make it known that you want to move ahead. Some management will not support your career goals as it causes them to have to backfill which can be a challenge.
