Better when HQ provided autonomy

Pros

Many dedicated and hard-working people. Many want to do the right thing.

Cons

Too much bureaucracy. The senior management team in Chicago is well beyond their prime. Why bring in worn out guys from Cincinnati or rejects from other banks? Marketing message constantly changing. Went from "we help you dream" (about what???) to now "we are curious" (about what???). The field turnover rate is huge. HQ is very cliquish.

Pros

Great improvements have been made over the last 5 years in Fifth Third's working environment. Excellent training lets you know exactly what is expected. Fifth Third capitalizes on your strengths. Benefits are great. They provide bank related college tuition reimbursement. There are amazing managers who encourage advancement within the company. There is integrity in only doing what is best for our customers. Bonuses are given for excellent customer service. Teamwork is valued and communication is open.

Cons

Many young freshly graduated college students use 5/3 for employment until they find a job in their desired field, thus a high employee turn over.
