I wish I could give them a better review.
Pros
-This company is going places. They're absolutely going to be big, and they're going to be successful. -The core product is genuinely useful for the people it was designed for (Law Firms). Some of the success stories of how it has helped some of their clients are truly moving. -The people at Filevine are amazing. I could rave for hours about how much I love my coworkers there. They are great people who work hard and work together well. I have nothing but great things to say about the people I worked with. -The leadership of the company is smart, driven, and committed to making the company successful. Personally, I love every single person leading this company. There isn't a single one I don't hope I keep in touch with. -The company is really, really trying to create a good culture internally. They've been pretty successful at this mostly because they hire awesome people. -They bring in lunches on Thursday which is pretty cool. They're usually good lunches too. -The company has several awesome internal values, and they really stick to them. This company practices what it preaches when it comes to their values. -They're pretty smart with how they handle things like working from home. Unless your job is very specific to needing to work at specific hours they do a great job being lax with you on stuff like working from home some times as long as you are getting your work done. -It's pretty easy to get company swag if you like that kind of thing. I'm currently rocking a hoodie I earned from them cause I love it. -They do a pretty decent job promoting from within. If you're excelling in your role it's not hard to move over into better positions if they have openings.
Cons
-Benefits are hilariously bad. Like seriously bad. I was able to get health insurance cheaper on my own so I didn't get it from them. Expect to spend a lot on pretty meh health insurance from them if you do get it. They don't offer anything else in terms of insurance or any kind of 401k matching. I get they're still kind of a startup, but I feel like they're past the point where this argument holds a lot of water. This was hard for me to swallow partially cause I had a good idea of what the Sales staff was making on commissions (yikes). -Compensation is lacking. They do a pretty okay job with initial offers, but getting raises after you're hired is hard. There's no scheduled cost of living raises, and if you do ask for a raise it's a dicey prospect. I provided market research showing my boss I was worth X amount of money after I'd been there a year and he basically said, "yeah sorry but no." Surprise surprise, I left when someone else offered me more than that six months later. The really obnoxious part of that was they tried to beat the offer when I put my two weeks in. -The company's vision is a tad schizophrenic. They have a product that is selling really well and is a little customizable and suddenly they think that they should sell it in way more markets then the product was designed for because they can kind of force the product to sort of work in those use cases. As a result they're going so far as to literally force different departments of the company to use the software internally for stuff it was never designed for. It's hard to describe this, but it's a little like asking Photoshop professionals to use Microsoft Paint for most of their work, including managing tasks for some reason. **If you are a Salesforce/Sales Ops professional looking to possibly fill a role at Filevine I would look elsewhere.** -The company is more focused on making money than helping its clients. Yeah yeah they're a business, but I still wish they had a bigger vision of what they were doing than just boosting their revenue numbers. When I started they used to talk a lot about all the law firms we were helping. That stopped a while ago. It's... really sad. -Work/Life Balance/Harmony isn't really present here. I constantly was struggling with feeling burned out. I literally went on anti-depressants and started seeing a therapist while I worked here in order to help cope. -"Unlimited" PTO. It would be okay if they made more of an effort to make sure people were taking time off. They don't. I worked for like 16 months before I took ANY time off that wasn't related to having a baby. Largely because it wasn't safe for me to do so. I had so much piled on me that escaping from it was an impossible prospect. Also, I ended up having to work from home for half of the time I took off to have my kid. -The office is way too small. They need a new office.
