Pros

Innovative environment with a leadership mindset that is open new exploring new ways of doing things. Our products make a difference (and in some instances change) in people's lives A global company with an inclusive culture Progressive thinking with a future paced leadership team CEO's in touch with the workforce, often tours the globe to reach out 1:1 with the sites and employees that work here. Very vested in a great employee experience. Bias for action, customer focused, coaching and growth mindset, innovative, trust and a spirit of accountability - because we act as if what we do makes a difference...because it does.

Cons

There really aren't any "CONS" just opportunity which is what you expect to experience with a growing company.

Pros

The company is very exciting with products that are used all over the world and even in outer space. It is great working with customers as they are always very interesting. The company also provides really good benefits for their employees. There is an attempt to develop the company and its employees with education and other professional training.

Cons

The sales teams are given very little respect for the efforts they provide and the value they bring to the company. Most of the sales teams are highly educated but are treated as if they are in high school. Bullying and intimidation by members of other departments seem to be the rule here rather than the exception. Emails with untrue information are circulated by others in order to malign the work or reputation of the sales teams. Many of these people have no problem shouting at them either. The managers of the sales teams seem to ignore what's going on even after these things are brought to their attention. Even when proof is provided, or the managers witnessed the event, they say nothing. As a result of such an environment, there's a revolving door for the sales people at Porex. Since starting at Porex, over 5 sales people have left Porex. This will continue if the culture doesn't change. The cost of personnel acquisition must be very high here due to the learning curve required to work at Porex. Yet, there is nothing done to change the bullying culture that is prevalent. After I brought these issues to my manager's attention, he simply ignored them. Since he ignored me I consulted with my mentors for advice to improve my situation. I tried all of their suggestions to improve my situation with limited success. Though my mentors provided many tactics, their ultimate advice was to leave the company; which is what I ultimately did. My advice to prospective employees in the sales position is to stay away unless you need a paycheck.

Thanks for taking the time to write a review after leaving the company. I am glad to hear that you found the benefits, products and professional development opportunities notable—we take very seriously our mission to make the world safer, healthier and more productive, and invest in employees who share that mission. We also take very seriously a culture of respect, trust and professionalism, and do not tolerate bullying on our sales team or any other team. We constantly work to improve communications, and it sounds like you and your manager were not able to communicate effectively in the situations you have described. Certainly, this is something we will review to ensure that every employee and manager is empowered to make valuable contributions. Additionally, I can confidently say that we have expanded our field sales force by 21 members in the past 24 months and have experienced only three voluntary resignations during that time. As we grow quickly, we will continue to work to maintain a low turnover rate and provide growth opportunities for all of our sales team members. Thank you again for your review and good luck with your future career.
