Good for high-schoolers needing extra cash
Pros
Ability to wear comfortable clothes, employee discount, possibility of first dibs on hot releases, and meet people and makes friend with people who relatively have the same personality. You get to learn a lot about retail and the business, especially the positives and negatives.
Cons
Low pay due to very small base wage along with meager commission structure. Raises were not given due to commission ("you make what you want with the right amount work" but with a rate so low you aren't actually able to make it). Moving up is very difficult, your performance and knowledge doesn't help your cause when management or upper management is biased and has favorites. Under my tenure a whole team (who were also tenured of at least 1+ years) consisting of me and 6+ others separated from the company due to lack of respect.
