Pros

FRB has an excellent client service model. They bend over backwards to help their clients and even their employees. At least that was the model...

Cons

FRB still puts every effort into their client service, but the employee model is changing drastically. They used to value their employees more than the bottom dollar. Or at least we felt like that. They pride themselves on their values not only to Clients but to their employees as well. Some of their values are, Respect the Team, Do the Right Thing and even, Have Fun. Well, the "FUN" is slowly dissipating and the "respect the team" & "do the right thing" has just died a miserable death. There have been a number of recent changes to executive management and while change is always expected, the changes to their core values is shocking which appears to be more focused on the bottom dollar. They are disrupting the lives of some of their staff with no thought to how it will affect them. So much for respecting the team. First, staff that were long time remote (before COVID) are being told they have to return to an office regardless of where they live. And these moves have to happen in early 2023. So, if you live out of range of an office you have to quit or relocate at your own costs even though we were allowed by previous management to work where we wanted if we continued to perform well. Now they are being told that full-time remote work will no longer be honored and sorry we can't help you if you live out of range from an office because your verbal agreement was with past management is no longer honored because it's not in writing!!! How's that for respecting the employees? Or respecting a verbal agreement? Or honoring staff that were grandfathered into remote work. Sad. This remote situation is bad enough but now we are seeing evidence that the company are more focused on the bottom dollar than the employees. We are seeing senior staff being pushed out and behold, these are long time employees that probably make too much money and just all happen to be senior staff over 55. I guess younger employees won't cost as much... very sad. The worst part is that the company is still solvent and not struggling. They continue to have profits year over year, but I guess if they get rid of enough of us expensive hanging fruit, the new executive management will get bigger bonuses. Oh yeah, forgot to mention, apparently our bonuses will be lower starting in 2023 (if we get one at all) because of the economy of course. Right. They will scrutinize what bonuses are being requested and paid and a new evaluation standard will be implemented to reflect a tougher scale to be evaluated on. while I believe in being evaluated on a tough scale, I don't believe in using it as a smoke screen to not give employees what they deserve. Very, very, sad. I have always respected FRB and was proud to be an employee, but as I stated earlier, things change. Maybe Elon Musk secretly owns FRB, because FRB seems to be incorporating his similar values.

Pros

Coworkers, fair to generous salary, good benefits

Cons

If you’re on a crappy team, especially one with a lot of turnover, don’t expect to be able to move. The advisor I supported is a legitimate psychopath and management was made FULLY aware by not only me but the revolving door of associates that left his team prematurely and provided evidence as well as scathing exit interviews. Despite their extensive knowledge of his less-than-kosher tactics (ie illegal/ non-compliant) Oh yeah, and training is minimal and the technology is so far behind it’s laughable. Middle managers are also mostly useless but they do mean well...they can’t be as effective as they need to be when they’re constantly drowning in the sea of BS being thrown their way. I can’t speak to the banking side but the PWM has impeded their ability to be a top tier wealth management firm by being wholly ill-prepared for growth as they try ever so hard to become like the top wire houses.
