Pros

Other peers who work hard to keep the power on.

Cons

After being hired in as a remote position, an announcement was made that all in Design are required to be on site full time weekly going forward. The claim is better cohesion between Operations. As always the lack accountability of protected bargaining employees is being placed on other departments. The company claims to promote work life balance but in reality has little to no regard for it. If you are currently considering a role with FirstEnergy, I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere. It is clear decisions with little to no consideration of the employees are routinely made.

Good pay and benefits with ample PTO and overtime availability

Cons

Understaffed and not a very good atmosphere, especially after recent mass retirements and firings.

Pros

Lots of opportunity to grow.

Cons

Everyone is too busy to train new employees. You kinda just learn as you go.
