Pros

Good benefits which still include decent healthcare, pension and 401k. Vacation standard amongst piers. Depending on the office area, the environment is easy to work in.

Cons

Governmental regulation of coal and clean air laws that the EPA admits won't affect carbon emissions would cost utilities billions to enact or they close plants. Business units often have redundant departments

Pros

Worked in a nuclear plant. Got lots of cool experience. Pay is very good for a co-op and is based off your year in school and experience. If you show some initiative you'll have a much better overall experience.

Cons

Everyone seems miserable in the plant. Tons of paperwork. Overly bureaucratic--but I think this comes with the territory (i.e. the nuclear power industry).
