Pros

Assuming that you want to show up in an office every morning and leave early evening without stretching your brain and having had little meaningful interaction all day, then this is the job for you.

Cons

HR is there, but not helpful in any way. I feel like I make no difference in this job. Whether or now I (or my immediate team) show up every day is irrelevant to the future of this business. The current trend is to ship all jobs oversee besides upper management and sales. Where does that leave us? Little job security, but a steady pay check while the hourglass is slowly emptied.

difficult time to be a manager

Pros

Upper management is motivated to upgrade / update Fiserv's processes, systems and procedures and tend to value initiatives from middle management. Middle management is generally incompetent, so it's easy to move up!

Cons

Toxic work environment: upper management is cutting costs and headcounts, closing divisions, and outsourcing to other countries. I'm often the bearer of bad news and have been required to have difficult conversations with at least 5-6 direct reports. Upper management still hasn't finalized a long term strategy, and so there are constant changes, memos, and budget updates. Hours the last 6 months have been pretty long in my department. Since we've outsourced several important functions, we're now working in 2 timezones.

Pros

Great employees with years of knowledge. Vacation package is decent. The company does promote a healthy balance between work and personal life.

Cons

Insurance options for a fortune 500 company is less than desirable. 401K match has not occurred in years. Processes constantly changing which have little to no value. Executive Leadership is out of touch with day to day operations and therefore do not see when mandated processes do not work.
