Pros

Fish is a great place to work and filled with smart, friendly people. The attorneys are the best at what they do, but are still down to earth and eager to learn.

Cons

If there is one then it is that it is hard to find people outside of the IP practice. The other practices are small and not growing nearly as fast as the patent and trademark grounds.

Supervisors don't seem to care about your interests or specialties but just assign you to work on cases based on their need. The work environment is highly stressful. You're told that you have flexible hours, but you still have to work extremely long hours to earn your full pay. 9-5 doesn't exist here. Any vacation time you take must be made up, so you essentially have no paid vacation days. Benefits given to legal staff that are not attorneys pale in comparison to the benefits given to attorneys, even though both groups may be doing the same work. If you're interested in a high paying job with NO work-life balance, then this might be for you...and you better have a JD too, or you won't get very far. But if you want to have a balanced life, you might want to look elsewhere.
